The Lost Gardens, Digital Archive

research | developed as part of the Global Summer School at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), The Lost Gardens documents the AGHA BOZORGI Garden under the guidance of Mehran Davari and Rojia Forouhar. the project combines three-dimensional capture, environmental observation, natural-species records and sound to preserve the landscape’s changing and ephemeral qualities.

A three-dimensional point-cloud recording of the garden landscape.
2019

the project documents the AGHA BOZORGI Garden as a natural-heritage site by combining spatial recording with environmental observation. humidity, temperature and carbon-monoxide conditions are mapped alongside a three-dimensional digital representation of the landscape.

Garden maps visualise humidity, temperature and carbon-monoxide measurements.

the archive expands beyond geometry to document natural species and recorded sound. observations of plants, animals and insects are located within the garden, while a vocal archive translates recorded environmental sound into a spatialised representation for long-term preservation.

A circular natural-species inventory and a spatial visualisation of recorded garden sounds.
